The Lehigh Microscopy School took a couple years off during the pandemic but since 2023, the 50 plus year annual institution, has been renewed and is teaching the latest in scanning electron microscopy, X-ray microanalysis, focused ion beam microscopy and transmission electron microscopy to a new generation of microscopists.
Fred Schamber, one of the early pioneers of quantitative energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry and a significant contributor to the field throughout his life, passed away on the 25th of February 2024.
